David S. Lehlbach

 David Lehlbach, a Senior Specialist in the MultiModal Systems Practice of Oliver Wyman’s Surface Transportation Unit, specializes in railroad operational analysis and modeling, transportation planning, and performance management. David works in the Princeton office and his recent assignments included a capacity analysis project for a North American client, optimization planning for three key European freight railroads, and a MultiRail implementation for Kazakh Railways (KTZ) in Kazakhstan. The first case included simulation analysis and suggestions to improve a critical terminal area that included several operational bottlenecks. Remaining casework has focused on modeling and analysis of terminal switching options with a goal to improve service and asset utilization, working with Oliver Wyman’s MultiRail Enterprise Edition software to understand network operating costs and provide several options to streamline railroad operating plans. He is currently managing much of the on-site consultative training for the KTZ project in Astana, Kazakhstan. Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, David worked independently on rail projects and for Union Pacific Railroad. He has a B.A. from Beloit College in Beloit, Wisconsin and an M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee (with honors) in Knoxville, Tennessee.
